DIY bag

Hi, everyone! As you may know from my Instagram (here) account, I posted a picture of my DIY project a couple days ago. Here today on my blog I'm now showing you the final results.

Here it is, my DIY tote bag!  It's a faux leather material (I got from Joann's fabric store when I was still back in the states). When I bought this material, I had no intention to make it into a bag.  At the time, it was a project that I never got a chance to go through it. I can't remember what project I originally intended, but I'm happy with this project.  I'm very satisfied about how it turned out as a bag.  who wouldn't be happy with this? I mean, created something that I can actually use everyday, right?

I'm hoping I can find more time to make more DIY projects like this!  It's hard because it's very time consuming. Oh well, at least I finished something I can be proud of and inspired by :).

Have an awesome weekend everyone!

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great weekend. As for me, my sister-in-law invited my family and I over to her place where she works. We had a picnic and went fishing.  I was surprised I actually caught two fishes (tilapia).  I had to let go of the other one because it was still small. I was really proud of myself, though, because of all of us in the group I'm the only one who caught a fish!

I wish you all a great week ahead!

Peplum Top + Bodycon Skirt

Top- similar here H&M Skirt-(similar here F21) Shoes (old)- ZARA Sunnies- PRADA

I have to confess something. This is my first peplum top (ever). I know shame on me!. The reason for that is that I couldn't find the "right-fit" until I found this one from H&M. If I'm not mistaken this top is from last spring collections. I got it from the sale rack couple months ago.

Here in the middle east its still a whopping 100 degrees dry heat. I can't wait for cooler weather and I think that's going to happen next month (yay!).

By the way, Excuse my sons photo bomb :).

3 ways to wear (Shift Dress)

Hi, loves! I am back! First of all I wanted to thank all of you who wished me luck on my last post. Just a little update about my mom, she's doing fine now. Hopefully her papers will be complete before the end of the year. If all goes well, she will be staying with me for as long as she wants.

Any how, back to the focus of this blog! Since I was absent for a long time, I decided to make it up to you guys. Here's my 3 ways (I know it's been a while since the last one). To recap, the 3 ways is about how to take a single clothing item and maximize it into 3 different outfits. This post is for some of you planning to go vacation (like me). Since I'll be going to a city, I chose a shift dress that I can layer to accommodate different types of activities I am planning to do.

Outfit 1: Dress (out of stock) similar here Promod Skirt (Philippine brand) similar here Mango Sunnies Topshop Purse LV Sandals: Zara
First, I will probably check the local attractions. This mean lots of walking and pair of flat sandals is essential. And of course, you've got to protect those beautiful eyes from sun rays while checking out the local souvenir stores.

Outfit 2: Dress Promod Demin Vest & Purse Target Wedges similar here Mango Touch
Second, shopping, shopping and shopping did I say shopping yet? Yup, checking out the shopping places is a must :). On this one, because the dress is tiny bit body hugging, I added a denim vest and a pair of wedges to make the look casual and not too "sexy" for day time.

Outfit 3: Dress Promod Jacket (old) similar F21 Necklace flea market from Philippines Clutch DIY Shoes (old) similar here Zara
Third, of course if you're travelling with loved ones, a group of friends or, in my case, with Hubby, you have got to have a night out. To try the local restaurant, night club or whatever is the "night out" means for you. I added black jacket, black heels and because the rest of my outfit is simple I let the necklace do the statement.

There you go, one dress, 3 outfits. Remember, packing and outfit planning ahead of time is the key to making the trip easy and simple. How about you guys, how do you plan your outfits when traveling?

Thanks for visiting!

Blue + Orange

I love this new top.. cranes are happen to be one my favorite bird
Top- Pull and Bear Pants- ZARA Bag- (old) Mango Shoes- ZARA

Hi! As you reading this I'm probably thousands of feet up high by now. I'm on my way to the Philippines where I was born and raised. It's been a long time since I last visited my family and I really miss them so much. I especially miss my Mom, which is the main reason for my visit. My Mom has been having issues with her health lately.  It's the main reason why I've been stressful for the last couple of months and not blogging that much. I'll be flying with my son, it's going to be his first time to the Philippines. Its also going to be his first time meeting my side of family in person so, this is going to be an awesome reunion for us.

Ta-ta for now! I'll respond to all your messages when I get back :).

Gold + Green / Happy Mother's Day!

Outfit all ZARA: Top Pants Shoes Necklace-gifted Watch- Coach Flowers- from my two boys :)

Hi, lovelies! First, let me greet all the incredible mothers out there a Happy Mother's day! As far as celebrating mother's day, I already celebrated a few days ago. Because it's mama's day, mommy got to request for anything, (right, moms??) :). I only requested something simple. I wanted to eat in a buffet restaurant..hehehe.(see my instagram pic HERE). My dear husband took me to not just a regular buffet resto, but a "I wanted to throw-up when I saw the BILL" kind of restaurant. LOL just kidding! It was all worth the price well, I made it worth and spent there for three hours :). Although we already celebrated two days ago, my two boys still surprised me with gifts and flowers today :), they're just the sweetest ever!

Why we celebrated two days early you may ask? Well, here in Saudi,  Thursday and Friday are the weekend and Saturday is the start of the week. Yup, this is one of the many quirky aspects of Saudi life that I'm trying to get used to.

Again, Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers!  I hope you enjoyed this special day! And to everyone else, I hope you had a wonderful day with your moms and made more great memories with her.

Thanks for visiting! Have a glamorous day!

last spring (weather)

Top-(old) J. Crew Jacket- Old Navy Bag/Pants- Target Shoes- ZARA Watch- Fossil Bracelets- thrifted

Hi, there! I'm back! First of all let me thank you so much who wished me luck on my last post. And yes, my family and I are here in Saudi Arabia already, we made it safely! We arrived here a couple days ago, so we're still adjusting. I'll put a separate post about us living here in Saudi, right now all I can say is that it's a very interesting place.

Onto my outfit, this was taken on Easter day. We got lucky to experience the spring weather for the last time before leaving to Saudi. And of course I didn't let the chance pass to wear some of my favorite spring colors for 2013.

By the way, as some of you may already know,  Google is closing Google Reader soon. But not to worry, because Bloglovin is here to save the day! So if you're following me on Google Reader, you might want to switch to Bloglovin and follow me (HERE) to get the latest update on my post.

Thank you so much for visiting!

Big Move

Top- J.Crew Factory similar here Jacket- Target similar here Pants and shoes- Zara Necklace- thrifted Watch- Fossil

Hi, there! As I mentioned on this post, we'll be moving next month to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia due to my husband's job. For a personal style blogger like me, this could be a nightmare. Just a little info about Saudi Arabia, other than women are not allowed to drive in Saudi, women also MUST wear a long Abaya. They wear the abaya over their normal clothes and as well as a veil over their hair when they leave the house. You can google it further if you're interested. Even though the Abaya is traditionally worn by Muslim women, women in Riyadh must wear this overgarment when in public, even if you're not Muslim, or else you're going to get "questioned" by the Mutawa (religious police). However, the more I read books, watched documentary videos, and talked to other expat families about living in Riyadh, my worries and anxiety have kind of eased a little.

Wearing an Abaya, eh? No worries! My husband is my biggest supporter and encourager in whatever goal I may have, especially on my blogging. Because I was worrying about our move to Saudi and wearing an Abaya, my husband bought me this photo studio set last Valentine's Day so we can take my photos inside the house (talk about thoughtful husband :)). My husband and I have no knowledge about photography what so ever, so right now just bear with us until we learn the set up. For now, I'm asking you ladies (and gents?) to wish us luck on our BIG move!

wild

Cardigan- Zara(kids section) similar here Blazer (old)- similar here Belt- thrifted Skirt (old)- Zara Tights- Target Shoes- H&M

Hello there! I hope everything is going well with you guys! Sorry for the lack of updates here lately. I was just a bit lethargic for the past couple of days/(weeks?). And right when I was fully charged and ready to blog again, my son got sick and, obviously, I was on extra-extra mommy duty.

If my last post here and here was taking baby steps in wearing leopard prints, today I'm almost ready to let out my inner beast (Roarrr!!) :D. I'm still a little hesitant of how wild this cardigan is, which is why I toned it down a little by wearing a black blazer over it. I was actually on the hunt for leopard print top when I found this one. I searched high and low before I finally found one...in the kids area. Yes, ladies! I'm guilty of shopping in the kids section (not just for my kid!), but ONLY when I see something that will suit my style....like this cardigan (kids size 14 about equal to a 0/2 adult size). How about you guys did you ever shop in kids section for your own clothes?

valentines 2013

Sorry about the poor quality, we're still practicing our night photography
Dress- Mango (sold out) similar here and here Belt- Zara

Hi, loves! Happy belated valentines! I hope you had a wonderful day with your loved ones. I surely did! As I mentioned on this post, my husband and I celebrated valentines day in our favorite restaurant (a.k.a. the living room :)).
On to my outfit, I'm wearing this dress that i got last year from Mango. I love how this dress has a classic silhouette, it flatters most body types. I've been waiting to wear this dress for a while now but I haven't really had an occasion to wear it.  Last thursday night, though, was the perfect occasion! Even though I felt very ladylike in my dress, it was a relief to slip into my PJ's right after dinner :).

chasing the sun-light

Coat- ZARA Leggings- (old)- ZARA similar here Scarf - H&M Bag- thanks to SammyDress Shoes(old/gift)-Gucci

Hi! I just realized that I haven't post anything for the past few days! so yesterday, right after work, my husband and I rushed to the park while there was still a few minutes left of sun light before it got dark. That's the only complaint I really have for fall/winter season day...days are too short! Today, the outfit I am showing you is my favorite, put together with basic necessities that I have in my closet (black pumps & trench coat). I think a pair of black pumps is one of the MUST haves in every womans closet. Lucky me, I didn't have to invest in these shoes,  they were a gift to me from my god-mother. What I love about these shoes, other than that they're classic and very comfortable, is that I can also pair it with just about any outfit I have...well almost. :)

Thanks for the visit! Have a glamorous day!
